Tracey Elliot-Reep
Tracey Elliot-Reep grew up riding Dartmoor ponies on her mother's stud farm on Dartmoor, in south West England. After completing art college she worked in a traveling circus with Arab and shetland stallions and sketched the animals. She then taught horse riding in North America before qualifying as a photographer in south Wales. For five years she worked as a freelance photojournalist for magazines, during which time she she interviewed the Duke of Edinburgh regarding his carriage driving career at Buckingham Palace and rode 2,000 miles the length of both North and South Islands of New Zealand.
Tracey started her own greeting card and book business 16 years ago with six postcards while living in a small caravan with her dog. Her faith, love of horses, adventure and photography has taken her to many places in the world including Africa, Tibet, Israel, and Russia. In 2004 she rode two Scottish Highland ponies from the top of Scotland down to Land's End in England and then around Southern Ireland and Wales. She has published three photographic books on her rides through New Zealand, Southern Ireland and Across America.
In 2007 Tracey rode two Quarter horses from the Mexican border to Canada - the story of her adventurous ride has just been launched in a stunning photographic 310 page hard back book and is available in the USA, N.Z and the UK. She is now working on editing a documentary about her journey which will be on the BBC in the future.
