The Horses of Kings Workshop
Baja, Mexico April 8th -11th, 2016

Four fabulous days of unbelievable equine photography and fun, as we get up close and personal with the PRE horses of Yeguada Ernesto Jimenez on the coast of Baja Mexico. Soon you will find yourself surrounded by some of the world's most beautiful Andalusian horses giving you unparalleled opportunities to photograph them in the surf and at the facility. At the USHJA Building, Kentucky Horse Park, Lexington, Kentucky. Join us for the presentation: Because of Horses, Lessons Learned, Lessons Lived with Scott Trees. Free, Open to the Public.

Based upon his experience and interaction with horses and the diverse cultures he encountered, Scott Trees will present an entertaining and informative program entitled Because of Horses, Lessons Learned Lessons Lived. Sharing perceptive, anecdotal stories about his observations and the lessons he learned in his travels and associations with horses, Scott offers unique and thought provoking insights to the challenges of life. Often humorous, yet motivational and inspirational, Because of Horses is a presentation in which Scott shares many insightful stories about the experiences that impacted his life. While speaking, he enthralls his audience by showing his incredible images in support of the anecdotes he shares.

Colorado Cowboys and
Great American Horse Drive

Craig, Colorado April 24th - May 1st

Photo by Carien SchippersImagine a place where the wild west still lives . . . hundreds of horses running with power and freedom, beautiful light and dust, real working cowboys and cowgirls, big open spaces and wood corrals. Beautiful open blue skies and long days to live it and photograph it . . . if this sounds like heaven to you then join us in a special part of western America where the real west is still alive and EPNet members have special access to document it with our cameras and share it with a group of like minded photographers and horse lovers. There is no other place or event like it on earth!

This event will begin with a Photoshop Class session led by Sherron Sheppard, followed by two days of exclusive access to the Sombrero Ranch horses, cowboys and cowgirls with sessions led by Scott Trees and Carien Schippers and Nikon gear available to try for all participants with Nikon Rep Mark Kettenhofen present. The workshop session will wind up with a second Photoshop session with Sherron Sheppard, photo and portfolio reviews and a wrap up slide show party with all out Sombrero friends.

Part two of the event will start with a trip into the vast Sombrero Ranch outback followed by two days of the Great American Horse Drive, an event like no other. So many horses you cannot imagine the feeling!

White Horses of the Camargue, France
May 3rd – 8th, 2016

Do you want to learn in a small group how to improve your photographs of horses with hands on instruction? Then this workshop is for you. Location: Camargue, France, with five full days of shooting and in the field instruction by Carol Walker, author of Horse Photography: The Dynamic Guide for Horse Lovers.

Ten morning and afternoon shoots that will include horses in the sea, horses running through the marsh, horses running on the beach, portraits of mares and foals at liberty, stallions playing in the marsh, a stallion in the sea.

You do not need to be an expert or professional to participate in this workshop, simply someone who loves horses and photography. It is suitable for amateur photographers who want to learn while photographing spectacular subjects as well as artists who want to improve their reference photographs.

Wild Horses of the Adobe Valley
Photography Workshop

Near Bishop, California May 13th - 16th

Track and photograph wild mustangs in a stunningly picturesque setting! Join Ken Lee for four exciting days this spring as we hike and ride through the seldom visited Adobe Valley area of the Inyo National Forest seeking opportunities to observe and photograph the wild mustangs that call this rugged territory home. Nestled between two major mountain ranges, the Sierra Nevada and the White Mountains, the Adobe Valley is a unique haven for these magnificent creatures. With such stunning backdrops, the opportunities to make memorable images should be abundant.

Our expert tracker/guides will educate us in the natural history and behavior of these icons of the American west. Photography instruction will be a combination of lecture/demonstrations, image critiques and in the field coaching. Located on seventy scenic acres with the Green Mountains as a stunning backdrop, this workshop is for amateur or professional photographers and includes two days of coaching during morning and evening shooting sessions.

Photograph horse portraits, portraits of people with horses, action under saddle, conformation, details, horses moving at liberty, alone and in groups in the pasture. Carol will cover technical details such as camera and lens selection, background, lighting and more. Two classroom sessions include review of photos, editing, use of Photoshop, portfolios, selling and marketing, printing. Workshop is limited to 12 participants. This is Carol's only 2016 east coast workshop.
