This was a terrific three days of being surrounded by horses. It'll be a couple days before I get back to Cave Creek and am able to spend quality viewing time on the 23" monitor looking at all the pictures.
However, I've been looking at some of them on my oldish laptop as I travel, and have found one I like, so far. It's hard to tell in this tiny version, but the rider's rope is looped, which adds a little touch of interest and authenticity.
The picture was taken on Sunday, the last day of the drive when all the horses are driven down Main Street in Maybelle, CO, moving from one place to another. It's the highlight of the year for Maybelle, so the rider is all dressed up in pinks for the occasion. Not really hard working cowboy clothes, but what the heck... It's fun.
