9 News in Denver (you know, the car that was in our way sometimes :)) did a broadcast on the news last night. Here's the the promo and the whole story:

or click on the photo in the middle of the home page at www.9news.com

I thought it was pretty good.

Thanks for the link Barb, that video was really well done and does a better job capturing the scale and sound and history than we can with still photos. Can't wait to see what Scott comes up with, he has about 4 hours of footage. I am still going through my pix.

Sounds like Scott's won't be done for quite some time. I'm looking forward to that too. Here's the 9News car...

I'm not sure I'll EVER get all the way through the photos! I'm not sure I ever got through last year's either...

The first picture is one that Barb mentioned about her camera. Then a few more pictures of the actual drive follow this one.

I was standing between Kansas and Rocky, two of the wranglers who were counting every single horse as they were being turned out to pasture. I heard them discussing if there were 286 or 287 horses, once they were all out of the pens. Originally, we heard that there'd be 800 horses, but I think that was just hype. Not that they needed it!!! In the long run, it didn't matter, since there were more than we could fit into the frame, anyway. So 300 or 800, we were limited to fewer than that in every picture.

More of the Great American Horse Drive. ;-) Thanks to Jody Miller for that name. Love it!

More dust, but at least we had sunshine, too.

Riding along in the back of a pickup, I suddenly saw this cowboy doing the "drunk pose" for the photographers. :ropingnaner: :gallop:

As the wranglers were unsaddling their horses, one of them got loose and galloped away. He headed straight for Danny's horse, and although it's too small to see in this picture, Danny's yelling "Whoa!!" and his horse is looking a bit concerned, too.

Fun angle, and you can see how steep the hill was.
